Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Thomas Hospital on Saturday, May 20th, 2023, Reverend Doctor Grafton Antone of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, in his 82nd year.
Devoted and beloved husband of Eileen Marie Antone (nee: Cornelius). Loving father of Dawn (Sakoieta), Rosalind, and Tonya Lynn. Proud grandpa of Jocelyn (Adam), Patterson (Brittany), Nicholas, Harrison, Elwood, Elva, and great grandson Zilyn. Dear brother of Duncan (Rosie), Carol Mendoza (Joe), Alberta George, Bev Clause (Dan), Ricky (Joanne), and sisters-in-law Nancy Ireland and Marilyn Cornelius. Special uncle to Nicole Ireland, Tanis Doxtator, and Angela Antone and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Elijah and Matilda (nee: George) Antone, siblings Mary Halloway, Lois Cornelius, Cynthia Antone, Elwood (Woody) Antone, Wilbe Antone, and grandson Lehigh Antone.
Family will receive friends at 1519 Elijah Road, Oneida on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 after 2pm. The Celebration of Grafton’s life will be held at Oneida United Church, River Road on Wednesday commencing at 11am. Reverend Joan Golden officiating.
Pallbearers will be Patterson, Nicholas, Harrison, and Elwood Antone, Adam Freeman, and Jaxon Doxtator. Interment Oneida United Church Cemetery.
