Obituary of Grace Gladys Williamson
WILLIAMSON, Grace Gladys (nee Orchard).
July 3, 1919 – August 18, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Gladys Williamson at the grand old age of 104 years. As the youngest of seven children, she had a remarkable life journey that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was born in her family home on Mitchell Street in Guelph where she lived for many years until she moved into an apartmentin 1976 on Eramosa Road. Grace resided there until dementia struck in 2011 then entering St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph to complete her journey.
Grace leaves behind her son, Richard (Brenda) of Guelph and her daughter, Nancy (Glenn) of Cobourg and seven grandchildren Kelly-Lynn (Jason), Blaine (Laura), Andrea (Chris), Ryan (Michelle), Alison (Andrew), Jason (Sarah), and Adam. Grace was also blessed with twelve great grandchildren.
In her younger days, she worked as dental assistant/receptionist and later as office manager for Dr. Jim Britton from 1963 and Dr. Kerry Ley until her retirement in 1983.
At St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Grace became one their oldest residents and we would like to thank all of the fantastic staff there for more than eleven and one half years of wonderful care, including ensuring she was comfortable during her last few days.
Visitation will be held at the Brombal Funeral Home (formerly Gilchrist Chapel), One Delhi Street, Guelph on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph.
