Switzer, Grace Florence
Grace passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday September 5, 2023, at the age of 90.
Born in Orangeville, a daughter of Harold and Mary Sanderson. Grace was predeceased by her husband Peter Switzer (1973).
She was the devoted mother of William “Bill” Switzer (Ann Buck) and Jan (John) Trude. Proud and loving grandmother of Jodie (Trevor), Peter, Billy (Sarah), Graham (Kim), and Sarah (Trent); great grandmother of Jack, Ryan, Weylen, Sam, Gillian, and Paige.
Grace is survived by her sisters Mary (Harry) Smith and Margaret “Peg” (Bing) Jowett; predeceased by brother Harold Jr. She will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Grace was a member of the Stayner Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #270 and Bokhara Court No. 22 Ladies Oriental Shrine of Toronto and a charter member of the Salaam Club Ladies Shrine Collingwood, and part of many fundraising initiatives supporting the community. She lived her life full of appreciation and joy and considered herself blessed by great friends, caring family, and wonderful adventures in her life.
The family extends thanks to Cathy & Mary for their continued support.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday September 8, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Grace’s memory may be made to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation.
