Predeceased by his children Richard Savelli, and Lisa Savelli. Survived by his grandchildren Elissa (Jay), Michael (Lisa), Kaylana (Derek), Alexandra (Jordan), Vienna (Justin), Thereza (Justin), Lisa, Michael, Gabriel, Richard (Ellis), and David, and great grandchildren Fiore, Arielle, Sofia, Klara, and newborn Julian.

He is also survived and predeceased by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Missed and mourned by Brian Costello.
Our father was the rock, the anchor of our family…our ever constant safe harbour.Handsome and brilliant, kind and generous, wise but ever modest and self effacing, sensitive and God fearing…..and the ultimate straight shooter. He was born the third son in a family of nine children (eight boys, one girl!), and grew up in a household bursting with bustling energy. He would often regale us with tales of his youth, and exciting adventures with his Brightside friends.
He met and wed the love of his life, Elisa Tilli, and they enjoyed a marriage that lasted 70 years, forging a life filled with love and devotion. Together they raised seven children , tragically losing two to childhood illness. However he ensured that love and support for his family were unwavering, and bravely showed us how to face life with our heads held high through triumph and tragedy.
He worked as a Roller at Number 1 Bloom Mill and Billet at Stelco, and received recognition for his long and distinguished career; but during lean times of strikes uncomplainingly worked at three jobs simultaneously to support his family through health and illness. He never ceased to enable and encourage us, no matter the sacrifices he endured. He was uncompromising in his integrity and tenacity.
He did unabashedly enjoy and embrace the beauty and fun in life…..travelling, golfing, bowling, boating, Muskoka, ice fishing, music, opera, dancing (the jitterbug with our mother! ), Sunday drives for fresh doughnuts and ice cream…sometimes even making a Rice Krispie peanut butter square or two! He was multitalented and uncannily gifted in multiple skills, undaunted by any project, from conception to completion. He could plan anything, design anything, fix anything, build anything…..he was extraordinarily savvy and successful in business and finance .
But above all, FAMILY WAS EVERYTHING. Dad, you unerringly steered us on the safe straight path through life’s ups and downs. The outstanding influence of your steadfast example, support and love will forever colour every fiber of the tapestry of our lives. Dad, our love and respect for you will forever be without limits. Your legacy is solid.
‘You can see clearly now….. no obstacles in your way’
Special thanks to the numerous care providers who helped us on this journey, including Angela and Anne Marie, but most particularly Miss Sherice Bolt, who walked with our father and termed him ‘Sir Savelli, the mayor of Lucerne Avenue.’
And finally, endless gratitude to Maria and Damian for your enduring love, care and devotion…you are angels on this earth.
Friends will be received at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King Street East (between Rosedale and Cochrane) on Sunday August 20th from 1-5 p.m. with vigil prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene Catholic Church on Monday August 21st at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
