1942-2023
It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the peaceful passing
of Gordon Adams surrounded by his loving family on April 14, 2023,
aged 80 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Sylvia; parents, Alonzo and Mary Jane Adams;
brothers, Gilbert (Jane) and Lloyd (Phyllis).
Left with fond and loving memories, daughter, Lori (Robert) Hatcher;
son, Randy (Christine);
granddaughter, Erika (Robert) Farrell; grandsons, Ryan (girlfriend,
Josie) and Justin; great granddaughter, Amelia;
sisters-in-law, Gertie (Don) LeShane and Florence Meadus (Lee); nieces
and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Gordon’s witty personality, infectious laugh and his love for his
family and his home in Old Perlican will be memories we all will hold
in our hearts forever. Gordon was known for his love of photography
and fishing. He loved to travel with his wife Sylvia and to spend time
with his precious family. Everyone who met him walked away with new
stories, great memories and a new appreciation for life growing up
‘around the bay’. Gordon made an everlasting impact on us all. He
taught us to appreciate hard work, to live life to the fullest, to
give with a generous heart, and most importantly, to always be there
for family. A loving husband, devoted father, caring grandfather and
great grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, he will be forever
in our hearts. We love you!
A heartfelt thankyou is extended at this time to the amazingly caring
and compassionate nursing staff of 4 South B at the Health Sciences
Centre, St. John’s; Dr. Peter Robbins, and the nurses and paramedics
in the Health Sciences Emergency Department who took such great care
of Gordon throughout this difficult time.
Visitation at Hopkins’ Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Monday, April 17,
2023, 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm.
Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
from St. Andrew’s By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican.
Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Old Perlican.
The family respectfully requests that masks be worn for the visitation
and funeral service.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or a
donation may be made in Gordon’s memory to St. Andrew’s By The Sea
United Church, Old Perlican or to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation.
