Gloria Diane Giroux passed away February 22, 2023 at the Norfolk General Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband Armand, and son Michael.
She is a beloved mom to her children: Michael (deceased), John (Kristine), Stephanie (David), and Bekki. She was a dear Nanna to Jordan, Amanda, Nathaniel, Megan, Dakota, Rae, Luke, Cordelia, Jayden, Josh, Rhett, Aynzley, Xizen, Auhley, Zhaia, and Phoenix. She was a dear friend from childhood with Mrs. Miriam (Peter) Wight.
Gloria was born in St Thomas, Ontario. She was placed in a permanent foster home at 6 months old, in Boston, Ontario with the Haviland and Kahler family. She attended Waterford District High School. A school trip to the Stratford Festival planted the love of theatre and the arts in her heart which she nurtured in her children and grandchildren. When she retired, she was working for the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. She also spent many decades volunteering for the youth, elections, Games for the Physically Disabled, and doing make-up at Windsor Light Opera.
Gloria was loved by many, including residents and staff at the Iroquois Lodge. She will be desperately missed.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 where the Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 1 pm. Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville. www.rhbanderson.com
