Glen Melvin Umpherville was born November 16, 1970, in Carrot River, Saskatchewan to Job and Harriet Umpherville (nee Head). He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Sk. Glen attended elementary school and high school at John William Memorial Education Centre in Red Earth, Sk.
Glen married his wife Josephine Young on May 5, 1998, in Shoal Lake Anglican Church and they were blessed with two children. Glen will be
remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He enjoyed visiting his friends and family. He was a very humorous person and liked to make people laugh with his jokes. He enjoyed moose hunting, duck hunting, outdoor camping, and traditional food with his family and friends.
Glen leaves cherished memories to his wife Josephine, his children Elanna Umpherville and Cal Gary Young. His grandchildren: Elin Cardinal, Ellie Mckay, Roni Whitehead (Little Job), and Delvin Umpherville (Little James), Eleanor, Emora Whitehead, Percy Umpherville and Korey Mckay Borck Nawakayas and Stefan Head. His brother: James Umpherville. His sisters: Amelia (James) Whitecap, Ernestine (Charles) Sahyes, Colleen (Dean) Nawakayas. His nephews and nieces: Dixon (April) Umpherville, Clarise (Corey) Mckay, Trisha Nawakayas, and Nina Livia Cook. His aunties: Marna Jobb, Adelaide Kitchener, and Helen Ross. His uncles: Earl Kitchener, Patrick (Eldeen) Kitchener, Carl (Barb) and Walter Garvin. His special uncle and aunt Sam and Marlene Mckay, Willis Mckay. Glen would greet Willis with his saying, “Hello pops, you old dust mop”. His sisters in law: Jaqueline (Peter) Lathlin from The Pas, Emily Wilson from Saskatoon. Anita (Marcel) Mckay, Sandra (Allan) Whitehead, Cherie Young, Rona (Shaun) Bear, Rena Young, Teresa (Ryan) Gamble, and Melanie Young. His brothers in law: Roderick Young, Robinson Young, Ramsey Young, Brian Young, Norman Head. His in laws: Marion Mckay, Brian (Sharon) Head, Mariola Mckay, Perry Head, Kenneth (Loraine) Head, Lena (Late Rayne) Young, and Camellia Late Duncan) Lathlin of The Pas.
Glen was predeceased by his parents Job and Harriet Umpherville, his siblings: Evangeline Umpherville, Betty Mckay, Ruth Umpherville, Maryanne Head, Agnes (Abelard) Nawakayas, Christina Young. Percy (Pauline) Umpherville, Harvey Umpherville. His adopted baby sister: Eleanor (Richard) Nawakayas, His nephews: Sterling and Orville Nawakayas, Dion Head. His niece: Alyssa Nawakayas. His adopted brother: Russell Phillip Umpherville. His grandparents: Silas and Mary Jane Head, Elias and Louisa Umpherville. His in laws: Roger and Annabelle Young (nee Head), Michael Mckay, Wilson Mckay, Leona (John James) Head, Arabella (Richard) Nawakayas, Edith (Clarence) Young, Nellie Head, Doreen (Cecil) Whitehead, Gloria Head, Maude and Belinda Umpherville, Agnes (Absolom) Umpherville. His Cousins: Thomas, Norman, Frank, Walter, and Russell Umpherville, Victor (Ursula) Nawakayas, Wanda Nawakayas, Wilma (Andrew) Mckay. His nieces and nephews: Sterling and Orville Nawakayas, Hillard Umpherville, Dion Head, Ryan Young, Denise Young, Alyssa Nawakayas, Leo Umpherville, Autumn Umpherville. His grandchildren: Jonas Jr. Head, Lyndon Umpherville, Deagan and baby boy Umpherville, Chad, Coralyn, Klare, Klaren, Chandz, Ethen, Boy/Girl Mckay, George and Baby Lachance, Roy Nawakayas, Bernard Bighead, Baby Bighead.
