Glen Stewart, of Bridgeview Hall, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, August 2, 2023, at the age of 81.
Born in Matthew Settlement, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Ruby (Mullin) Stewart. Prior to his retirement, he was a transport driver, and also worked at Heath Steele Mines.
Glen loved to dance and especially enjoyed listening to music at Ritchie’s Wharf and dancing any chance he could.
He will be greatly missed by his best friend and dance partner, Dorothy Donovan; two daughters Rosalind Nash (Sonny) of Maple Glen and Kimberley Lamkey (Rory) of Miramichi; his sister Gladys Cassidy of Miramichi; brother Don Stewart of South Esk; grandchildren Monica Nash, Emily Nash, Holly Trevors, Kendra Pitre, Owen Pitre, Kyra Lamkey, Kyland Lamkey, Kamryn Lamkey, and Kora Lamkey; his great grandson and special buddy Michael; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant brother David.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, from 12 pm until 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm, with Rev. Willard Watling officiating. Interment will take place in Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, or to Autism Miramichi.
