Obituary of Gerts Lemanis
Gerts Lemanis, P. Eng
April 22, 1947 – June 16, 2023
Gerts and his beloved wife, Irene (nee Bridge) had been married for 51 years. Loving father to Colin Lemanis and Dawn Lemanis, adoring Opa to Carson Lemanis and father in law to Susan Lemanis. Dear brother to Liliana McGee and brother in law to Wesley & Susan Bridge and Janet & Bill Tulloch. Uncle to Clark Bridge, Jason (Trudy) Bridge, Jim Bridge, Ashley (Luc) Boulanger, Theresa (Fabian) Theriault and many great nieces and nephews. Gerts was predeceased by his parents Teodors and Biruta (nee Nesaule) Lemanis as well as brother in law Tom McGee and sister in law Sally Wood.
Gerts grew up in Garson, Ontario. He began his career as an engineer with CN in Capreol, Ontario. After many moves he retired in 2019 from the Land Transport Authority in Singapore and settled in Oshawa. He loved to cook, fish, watch curling, baseball and home improvement shows, but his greatest achievement was his family and he loved to watch Carson play hockey and basketball. He and his quick wit will be greatly missed!
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
