Gerald’s Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Gerald Gaudet, announce the passing of our cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Gerald Peter Gaudet (November 20th, 1929 – February 10th, 2023), age 93 of Villa Acadienne, Meteghan formerly of New Edinburgh passed away peacefully Friday in the Villa.
Born in Concession, he was a son of the late Roger and Mary Rose (Comeau) Gaudet.
Gerald worked for CP Rail for 32 years. After retirement, he became known as the “Ticket Man” raising funds for many different charities in and around the community. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus taking his role very seriously helping the club in any way possible and again, selling endless tickets and receiving many awards and appreciation.
In his later years, Gerald enjoyed his golf games with his buddies. He also looked forward to his afternoon gatherings at Chez-Jean with the boys.
Watching the Blue Jays and hockey was his enjoyment especially when his hero, Sidney Crosby, would score.
Left to mourn is his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Anne-Marie; son, Steven (Karen) Gaudet; daughters, Yvette (Claude) Belliveau, Brenda (Yvon) Doucet and Darlene (Richard) Wagner; grandchildren, Jean-Guy, Grant, Ashley, Maria; great-grandchildren, Jean Pierre, Remi and Reid; brothers, Ralph and Ernest; his buddy, Reginald “Reg”.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanette; brothers, Donald, André and Robert.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. As per Gerald’s request, a graveside service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff of Villa Acadienne for the wonderful care Gerald received during his stay. He certainly loved them all, especially when they’d walk in with his “Gingerale”.
