In Loving Memory of Gerald Egon Zimmerling
Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 20, 2023
Husband of the late Ada, Gerry is survived by his siblings, Astrid (John) and Lydia, his children Sandra (Loris), Colin, Ronald (Laura) and grandchildren Kyle, Samantha, Stephanie (Nathan), Zachary and Aidan.
Prior to settling into the Minden/Haliburton area, Gerry was a longtime resident and employee of the City of Oshawa. He emigrated from Ireland with his wife, Ada, in 1957, where he briefly settled in Toronto. He was a long time parishoner of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish and member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 12326 in Haliburton. He was also involved with the Farmers’ Market in Haliburton.
A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Rd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0 on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Interment to follow at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery, Haliburton.

So sad to hear of the passing of Gerald, an absolute gentleman. In my lifetime I met uncle Gerald on 2 holidays in Ireland. He was such a lovely, lovely man and he would bring out the best in everyone with his great with and great smile. My condolences to all his family and may he rest in peace ???????? Aidan Claffey

Alas ,I never met the man ,but all I’ve ever heard from my mother Angela and my family in Ireland that he was a Gentleman and so loved by everyone that had the luck to meet him .
