Obituary of George Ernest Conrad
CONRAD, George Ernest – Age 88, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away at home on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late William James and Madeline Elizabeth (Williams) Conrad.
He was a cook for the Halifax Shipyards for many years.
Surviving is his sons, Kenneth Conrad, Bridgewater; Allen Conrad (Wanda Hodder), Alberta; sisters, Shirley Nowe, Conquerall Mills; Ann (Donald) Wamboldt, New Cumberland; Betty Oakes (James Sperry), Conquerall Bank; brothers, Bernard (Bernadette) Conrad, Conquerall Mills; Edwin “Eddy” (Leslie) Conrad, Bridgewater; grandsons, Allen Jr. Hodder and Craig Hodder; Kaylen Conrad; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Merna Mae (Joudrey) Conrad; John E. Conrad; sisters, Christine Dares, Rosalind Joudrey, Marie Daurie and Alma Slauenwhite.
Visitation will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m., Friday, June 30 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Private family interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the family.
