After a courageous battle with Parkinson’s, George Carlton Bennett passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in his home at the age of 85.
Beloved husband to Ruth (nee Morrison) Bennett for 61 years. Loving father of Carolin (Colin) McBride, Carleton (Kim) Bennett and Patrick (Tina) Bennett.
Cherished grandfather of Amber (Steve) Ingold, Jesse (Tosin) McBride, Greg Bennett, Kyle (Karlie) Bennett and Neal Bennett. Loving great grandfather of Lilly Herbert and Mackenzie Ingold.
Survived by brother Hedley (Pat) Bennett. Predeceased by his parents George (Mildred) Bennett Sr. and his siblings Gerald (Bianca) Bennett, Blake (Evelyn) Bennett, Sam (Alice) Bennett, Florence (Angus) McCallum and Leila (William) Mackney.
Fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and sister and brother in laws.
Friends will be received at the Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester (Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.) where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment Dorchester Union Cemetery.
