Unexpectedly at the Woodstock Hospital, on Saturday, June 3, 2023. George Lowes, of Cathcart, in his 78th year. Beloved Husband of Edith (nee Springer) for 55 years. Loving Father of George Jr. (Gail) and Jessica (Jason). Cherished Papa of Samantha (Daryll), Taylor, Adam, Jayce, and Kendel. Great-Papa of Calder. Also survived by his brothers Pat, Bob and sister Linda. Predeceased by his brother Cecil, and sister Irene. George will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family & friends.
George and Edith spent 46 years in business operating George’s Garage in Cathcart. Working on his many tractors or old cars in the shop, George was well-known for his support of the farming community.
Family & friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Friday from 1-3 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday June 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment New Durham Cemetery.
