Obituary
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Gary A Lewis on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 He was the son of the late Sybil (Hamilton) and Elton Lewis of Berry Mills.
With no formal education, Dad made himself an entrepreneur from an early age, his career spanned from garage work, bus driver, driving tractor trailer, mail runs, owning a trucking company, and settling into tourism industry where he spent many years, and retired from.
Dad had the gift to gab, and often had complete conversations with total strangers about anything but it typically went to politics, which he was very passionate about. He loved a good deal, whether that be about a car, a piece of land, or tomato soup being on sale!
His sense of humor was like no other!! And we are so very thankful he had that til the end, always telling us “keep yer stick on the ice eh!” Meaning, to get a shot at our goals, be prepared! Beyond his rough exterior, the people who knew him best seen his heart that helped so many people throughout the years
Dad will be sorely missed, survived by his best friend and life partner, Marielle Michaud. Daughters Charlene Lewis Wilkins (Tom), Valerie Lewis and Jessica Lewis (Gabe); Grand Daughters, Kristen Roache, Rylee Lewis and Lauren Cormier; Great Grand Children, Braxton and River; Siblings, Elizabeth French, Roberta Boudreau (John), Debbie Murphy (late Terry), Wendy Murphy (Paul), Linda Kubas (Gary), Dennis Lewis (Lorraine); Sister-in-law, Linda Lewis.
Other than his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Lee and Bertram (Buddy); Niece, Vicky; Nephew, Nick and his ever-faithful k9 companions, Pal and Maggie
A Celebration and Sharing of Memories will take place at Fergusons Funeral Home Reception Centre, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Wednesday August 2, 2023 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Special thank you to Dr. Eric Brideau, Dr Lise Richard and all the nursing staff of 3F at the Georges L. Dumont Hospital.
