In Celebration of
Frederick Glenn Sweet
March 15, 1939 –
September 16, 2023
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Fred on September 16, 2023 at the age of 84. Fred is predeceased by his wife Vivian and leaves behind a loving family including his daughter Suzanne (Steve) and son Glenn (Marissa). He was a cherished ‘Grampy’ to Danielle (Jim) and Scott (Evangelia) and a proud ‘Great Grampy’ to Ellis. Fred grew up in Hamilton, the son of Harry and Ada, brother to Diana (Don), Ginny (Brian), and late brother Bob. He and Vivian owned and operated a very successful business, ‘Burlington Tune-up’ for many years until he retired. Fred enjoyed many hobbies including fishing on his custom-built boat, home renovation projects, and gardening on his hobby farm in Ancaster. Even after retiring he was always fixing something, like cars or lawnmowers. He cherished times spent with loved ones, always eager to share ‘a cold one’ and have a few laughs while sharing stories. His final year at Summit Heights Retirement Residence allowed him to make many new friends and spend more time with family. A celebration of Fred’s life will be planned for a future date.
