Frances “Irene” Newman
It is with great sadness that we announce Frances “Irene” Newman (nee Leggett), passed away on February 11, 2023 after a brief illness at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston, Ontario at the wonderful age of 94. She was born on February 7, 1929 to Frances and Alfred Leggett. She married Tom Newman on August 25, 1951. She was an inspiration to her children, and a loving and caring mother. She enjoyed playing cribbage, euchre, crosswords, and playing golf alongside her husband. Her favorite topic of conversation was hearing all about her grandchildren’s lives & their happiness.
She is survived by her three children; Rick (Sandra) Newman, Ken Newman and Linda (Chris) Gofforth; five grandchildren; Derek, Robert, Leanne, Jessica and Melissa and three great-grandchildren; Brooklyn, Jaxon and Josephine.
