FRANCES CHARCHALIS-BARKER
On April 22, 2023, at the age of 86, Frances left this world to be in a better place after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She no longer is suffering and the memories of her family, travels, social activities, can now be remembered in joy and love. Frances was born in Montreal, QC., to Nick and Mary Charchalis. The youngest and only girl of 3 children (Johnny and Terry), Frances was destined to become the little princess of the family. From 1954 to 1991, Frances had an illustrious 37-year career at Molson Breweries of Canada Limited in both Montreal and Toronto.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Barker, her parents Nicholas and Mary; brother John and Helen, brother Terry (survived by Beverley), and many aunts (Mary, Stephanie), uncle (Stevie), and cousins (Eddie, Frankie). She is survived by nephews David (Richard) and Gary (Theresa), adopted daughter Vivienne, stepsons Mark Barker (Cathy), Scott Barker (Arlene) and Paul Barker (Sherri) and Babcia to Julian and Alex. Her cousins (Junie, Patty, Danny, Joan, Gene, Teddy, Stevie, Michael, Donna), BFF’s (Dennis, Emily, Florence, Stella) and her extended family, friends and godchildren.
A special thank you to Sheila, Joan, Gary and David for caring for Frances when she could no longer look after herself. Thank you to the staff of The Village of Erin Meadows (Emma’s Unit) and Trillium Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the care, guidance and patience you had with Frances.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, Ontario, on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish, 921 Flagship Dr., Mississauga, Ontario, on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Frances’ charity of choice would be her nephew’s charity: Epilepsy South Central Ontario 250A Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, ON L5G 1G9.
