A dear father, husband, brother, and son, Alcides Adriano Bettencourt Fonseca passed away at the age of 52 on January 30, 2023. While we, his loved ones and friends, mourn his passing at such a young age, we are grateful for the memories we have with him. He lived a life that was full of God’s blessings and joy. Together many of his dearest friends and family shared many memorable travels around the globe and we all shared in his easy laughter and conversation. Alcides had a loving, compassionate, and generous heart. His greatest joy and accomplishment in this life was his much-beloved son.
Alcides leaves behind his most precious light, his son Santiago. His wife and companion of 28 years, Dorothy. His family in Tercerira, Azores, Portugal including his parents Alcides and Telma Fonseca, His twin sister Adriana (Antonio), nephew Daniel, and niece Telma. Also left to mourn his passing is his family in Edmonton. His mother-in-law Maria Cremilde, his siblings-in-law Paul (Jan), Bobby (Carrie), and Luisa ( Francisco). As well as, his many nieces and nephews Claudio, Jessica, Matteo, Vienna, and London.
The family wishes to thank all who have sent well wishes and all who will be accompanying them in prayer for Alcides. By God’s grace may his soul be at peace and his burdens lifted.
