Peacefully at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on Saturday May 7, 2023, Florinda Rosa da Rocha, age 101, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Jose DeAscencao (2017). Born in Portugal in 1922, daughter of the late Ermelinda Alfonsa da Costa and Antonio Joaquim da Rocha.
Loving mother of Manuel (Rosa) Ascencao, Maria Martins (late Daniel), Anna (Jose) Machado and Otelinda (Jose) Goncalves. Dearest grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also sadly missed by her son-in-law Manuel Laurentino and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her daughter Rosa Laurentino and her brother and sister.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 11:30 AM in St. Agnes’ Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
