Florence Josephine Barchalk
1927 – 2023
Florence passed away on March 11, 2023 in Prince Albert at the age of 95 years.
She was born in Krydor, Saskatchewan to Walter and Anne Wilson.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter, and 2 sisters Frances and Patricia.
Flo is survived by her 3 daughters Sharon Ludwig, Trudy Simpson, and Shelly (Marvin) Inkster; grandchildren Marcy, Curtis, Bronwyn, Regan, and Jordan; great grandchildren Jayden, Jaxon, Krysten, Austin, Penelope, Lydia, Rowan, and Indie; and great great grandson Mercer.
Flo will be remembered by her illustrious bowling career which spanned a couple decades. She enjoyed many summers at the Murray Point cabin. She loved to play horseshoes in the pitch that Dad created. Mom and Dad spent many happy hours playing cards each evening. She loved to sew, crotchet, and knit. She was very creative and had a talent to design fashions from scratch! She was a loyal Blue Jays fan and although her sight was very poor these last few years, it never stopped her from listening to the games. Flo also loved to curl and then later watch all the bonspiels through each winter.
We will miss her wonderful cabbage rolls, borscht, roast beef dinners, beautiful gardening skills, and feistiness. The family extends our thanks to Angie Kopera and the staff at Kopera’s Care Home for the support and care given. We would also like to thank the staff for the wonderful care she received at the Victoria Hospital these last few months.
Following Mom’s wishes, no formal funeral or memorial services will be held. A private ceremony will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Flo.
