Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Amy Florence (Partridge) Fry which occurred at Kennebec Manor on Friday, August 11th, 2023, two days shy of her 92nd birthday. Born 1931, in Sackville, NB, she is the daughter of the late George Albert and Ivy Bella (Thomson) Partridge. Florence worked as a Registered Nurse at the General Hospital and Regional Hospital for 32 years and hung up her nurses cap in the Radiation & Oncology Dept., retiring in 1991. She was an avid curler and was a member of the Day Ladies at Thistle St. Andrews. Florence spent many years of family gatherings at the cottage in Cambridge Narrows. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crosswords, singing in the church choir and she loved a good party. She was known as the smiler and winker at Kennebec Manor and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Florence is survived by her son Jeff Fry (Beth) of Saint John; daughters Debra Dolan (Dan) of Woodstock, NB, Sandra Wayne (Steve) of Saint John; brother Tom Partridge of Hampton; grandchildren Lindsay, Mark, Matt, Lauren, Allison, Courtney and Ryan; great grandchildren Lexel, Loyol, Brooks, Cameron, Callum and Emma; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband Robert, infant son Peter, brothers George, Frederick and Albert and sister Margaret.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, August 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Tuesday, August 15th at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Tabernacle Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
