Fay Hirst (nee Fabbro)
We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Fay on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Alexander Place LTC in Waterdown at 92 years of age.
Much loved mother of Vicki and her husband Eric, and Jeff and his wife Delia. Cherished grandmother of Tegan (Jamey), Brittney (Keith), Geoffrey and Christopher. Dear great-grandmother of Kinley, Harlyn and Cruz. Fay was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Fabbro (nee Dixon) and her brothers Donny and Phillip. She will be sadly missed by her brother Doug (Jon) Fabbro, sister-in-law Ruth Doherty, Oscar, Alex, Jhonathan and by many other relatives and friends.
Fay was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. True to her roots, fay worked at the Nickel Development Institute in Toronto until her retirement. After retiring, she was thrilled to spend more time with her grandchildren whom she loved beyond words. Retirement also gave Fay more time to enjoy her many artistic talents. She started many years ago as a potter, then moved into sculpture, photography and oil painting, finally finding her passion as a gifted watercolour artist and printmaker.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her Life will be held. Please raise a glass in Fay’s honour and toast to the memories you shared, a life well lived and a woman well loved.
The family would like to thank everyone at Alexander Place for their outstanding, compassionate care.
