Mom was born in her family home in Haywards Cove NL to a loving outport fishing family who all had roles to play to support this fishery and home making. We loved to hear her stories of her helping ‘make the fish’ and bring in wood before her school day started. Mom learned how to make and keep an excellent home herself from her mother who cooked on schooners leaving from Leading Tickles. Mom’s life was dedicated to her family that she dearly loved, and her church. A proud Salvation Army soldier for 77 years dedicated to Home League, League of Mercy and the Cradle Roll.
Mom loved cooking, baking and entertaining company (her greatest pleasure). She loved the outdoors berry-picking, helping with wood, ice fishing and forever hanging out clothes!
Thank-you to the staff of Pleasantview Manor, Lewisporte and James Paton Memorial hospital in Gander, NL.
She will be forever loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
