CANNING, Ethel Susan (nee Friend)
It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ethel Susan Canning on May 30, 2023, at the Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge at the age of 91. Ethel was born on November 15, 1931, to Thomas and Ethel (nee Beaumount) Friend. She is the beloved wife of the late Willard Floyd Gerald Canning of 73 years. Loving mother of nine children, Jeffrey (Mary-Anne) Canning, Danny Canning (dec.), Ellen (Charles Orser) (dec.), (Gary) Snoulten, Carl (Melanie) Canning, Debora (John) George, Wendy Canning, Michael (Phyllis) Canning, Steven (Rhonda) Canning and Nancy Archer. Cherished grandmother of Tyler and Lexi Canning, Kimberley (Paul Fleischer) Orser, Kara-Lynn Orser and Nathan (Missy) Orser, Benjamin (Meagan) George and Rachel (Dave Lecroix) Pintos, Jacob Kanis, Jonathan Benedict, Katie (Robert Griffiths) Canning, Jason (Kim) Canning and Shannon (Josh Ostertag) Canning and Whitney Archer. Great-grandmother of Madison and Ethan Fleischer, Miles Orser, Gabriel and Mila Pintos, Tucker Lecroix, Charlie, Lucas, and Mavis George, Tala and Tyson Kanis, Blair and Elliott Griffiths, Landon and Logan MacDonald, Madison Carson and Kenzie Canning and Ava Ostertag. Ethel was a homemaker and loved caring for your family and raising her children alongside her husband. She loved working at Fabulous Formals. In keeping with Ethel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services will take place at this time. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
