It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Esko Hänninen of Sherwood Park, Alberta on Friday, September 15, 2023. He passed away suddenly, yet peacefully at home, at the age of 72.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bernice, and his family Mikael, Natalie, Jennie, Sam, Ethan, Mila, Vincent, Mikko, Helena, William, Lucie, Sonja, and Nina.
He is predeceased by his brother Timo, as well as by his mother Helena and his father Veijo.
A viewing of Esko will take place at Park Place Funeral Home, 51 Broadway Blvd, Sherwood Park, Alberta on Tuesday September 26, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church in Sherwood Park, Alberta, on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at 11:30 A.M., with a one hour prior viewing, for anyone wishing to pay last respects before mass.
His final resting place will be at the Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at a later date.

So sorry & sad Bernice & family to hear of your sudden loss of Esko. I am grateful for the precious sweet moments that our families enjoyed together over many years. I am grateful that we got to hug Esko and see you Bernice at my Dad Albert’s Celebration of Life. This must have come as such a shock. I am holding you all tenderly in my heart and highest prayers. I look forward to celebrating Esko’s life & hugging you Bernice later this week. May the Angel of Faith be with you to comfort you and your family as you grieve the loss of Esko as your husband and Father to your children & friend to many.
