Erskine, William George ‘Bill’
Bill Erskine of Markdale passed away peacefully at University Hospital in London on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the age of 80.
Bill was born June 18, 1943, a son of the late Ruth Marie (nee Wiley) and Russell Erskine of Euphrasia Township.
He was the dear brother of Linda Moyer (Bob) of London and Lorraine Boyd of Owen Sound.
Bill was the step son of the late Eugene Thompson and remembered by his step brother Frank Thompson of Owen Sound and his step sister Linda Clark (Bill) of Hamilton.
He will be remembered fondly by his seven nieces and nephews and their families.
Bill farmed all of his life in the former Euphrasia Township, now Grey Highlands. His farming adventure started by helping on his grandparent’s farm – George & Mabel Wiley. After high school Bill attended Ontario Agriculture College at the University of Guelph. Upon graduation Bill purchased a farm where he lived and happily farmed all of his life.
A private graveside funeral service will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
