On June 8, 2023, Mr. Ernest Benson of Lac La Biche passed away at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his sons, Gerald (Yvonne) Boostrom & Ernest Boostrom; daughters, Angela (Ernest) Pruden, Brenda Boostrom, Geraldine (Tony) Norman & Colleen (Harold) Pente; step-children, Lorraine (Ron) Whitford, Irene Berard, Lorraine (Jim) Lougheed & Annette (Winston) Peddle; brother, Solomon (Alice) Benson; sister-in-law, Francis Benson. Ernest was predeceased by his wife, Marie; daughters, Audrey Benson & Diane Boostrom; sons, Cory Benson & Melvin Boostrom; grandson/Godson, Tigan Boostrom; step-daughters, Linda, Margaret, Brenda Berard, Marlene & Donna Boostrom; step-son, Ernest Berard; parents, Edward & Marie Jeanne Benson; loving lady who raised him, aunty/mom, Julia Piche; brothers, Gerald, Peter, Sam, Emile, James & Charles; sisters, Katie Leach & Mary Duchnyck. A Wake will be held on Friday, June 16 (leaving Grace Gardens at 10:30 a.m.) at Beaver Lake Cree Nation Community Hall. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 12:00 p.m. at Beaver Lake Cree Nation Community Hall with interment in Beaver Lake Cree Nation Community Cemetery.
