Uhryniw, Erma Jean (Donaldson)

Passed away at the Extendicare Medex, Ottawa on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in her 95th year. Erma was a devoted wife to her husband Walter Uhryniw (RCMP) whom she married on April 26, 1952. Walter passed away in 2004. Erma was the loving mother of Al (Priscilla), Don (Jennifer) and Thomas (Brigitte). Special grandmother to Martin, Elizabeth, Ariel (Michael) and Jonah (Rhea) and great-grandmother to Keira, Freya and Branwyn. Born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Erma was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Donaldson. She is survived by her brother Edison and is predeceased by her brother Roger and her sister Laura.
Erma graduated from Glace Bay General Hospital as a registered nurse. She was a founding member of the RCMP Vetrean’s Wives Association and a lifelong member of the United Church Women. In 1992 Erma was recognized as a Serving Member of the Order of St. John.
A memorial service will be held at Barrhaven United Church, 3013 Jockvale Road, Ottawa on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 11am. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barrhaven United Church, 3013 Jockvale Road, Ottawa K2J 4E4 would be appreciated by the family.
