Peacefully passed away at Nipissing Manor Care Centre on Wednesday February 8, 2023, at the age of 98 years. Ensio is predeceased by his beloved wife Idena Laakkonen. (Nee Howard) He was the proud and loving stepfather to Faye Secord of Burlington, and Shelva Fleet and her husband Martin of Toronto. Ensio will be fondly remembered by his grandsons Mark Secord and his wife Anne of Burlington and Matthew Fleet of British Columbia, granddaughter Katherine Fleet also of British Columbia, and great-grandchildren Zackary Secord of Toronto and Joshua Secord of Burlington. Ensio will be missed by his very cherished friend Arthemise Prieur of North Bay. The family of Ensio will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Saturday February 18, 2023, between the hours of 12pm to 2pm. A celebration of Ensio’s life will follow in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel (North Bay) at 2pm.
