BOUCHER, Emma Roland – St. Peter’s / West Arichat
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Roland Boucher, 105 years old of St. Peter’s formerly of West Arichat that occurred at her residence at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s on September 19th, 2023. Born April 24th, 1918 in West Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Amedee and Alvina (Gerroir) Theriault.
Emma was a founding member of St. Anne’s Ladies Auxiliary, a life time member of the CWL and taught catechism for many years. She taught school in West Arichat and Larry’s River. Married on July 27 1942.She lived in Arichat for many years then moved to West Arichat. Emma was a great seamstress , cook and loved to work in her garden.
She is survived by her daughters Emma Cornelia (George Donald) Sutherland, Elizabeth Ann McCulloch, both of Calgary; grandchildren Lisa (Peter) Bauman, Angela (Chris) Davies, Danielle McCulloch (Conrroy Nachtigall), John-Willie MacLeod great grandchildren Broden and Skylar. Emma was the last surviving member of her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 76 years Cornelius Amedee Boucher; daughter Emily Bernice; brothers Clement, Lucien; son-in-law Ronald McCulloch.

There will be no visitation per request. A celebration of life will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Saturday 23rd at 11am with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in West Arichat. Reception to follow the burial in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall in Arichat. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Assumption Maintenance Fund.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
