At her home in
Giants Glenn, NB, Elise Louise Sands passed away at the age of 75.
Born in Stanley NB, she was a daughter of the late Danny and Hilda
(Sands) Gullison.
Elsie was a member
of the United Church of Canada and of the Women’s Institute
and Helping Hands. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the
Nashwaak Villa.
She is survived by
her husband Arthur Sands, their children, James of Fredericton,
Kenneth of Windsor ON. Sister Valerie Golding (Reg), brother-in-law
Camille Moore, niece Cindy Dorcas and nephews, Darrell Dorcas and
Camille Moore Jr. and by her four-legged companion
Molly.
In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Johnny, Ralph
and Bernard and her sisters Dorothy, Bertha and sister-in-law
Gail.
Elsie enjoyed
flowers and gardening, going for walks, was a lover of animals and
playing games on her tablet. She loved watching home making programs
and watched soap operas when she could. She also loved to
laugh.
Visitation will be
held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road
Fredericton, NB on Tuesday March 21st, 2023, from
10 AM to Noon, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor
Walker officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place in
the Stanley United Church Cemetery at a later
date.
Memorial
contributions may be made the NB Heart and Stroke or the Diabetes
Associations.
