Obituary
Ella Ruth Seidlitz (Leslie)
July 3, 1946 – January 9, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ella Ruth Seidlitz (Leslie), a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend. She was welcomed into heaven on January 9, 2023, surrounded by her devoted husband and youngest children.
Ella was born on July 3, 1946 to Tom and Ruth Leslie and grew up in the Merna, Alberta area. Ella was the third of eight children and had a wonderful family. She married her first husband and welcomed three beautiful sons of her own, Kirby, Wes, and Garett. She was involved in the Merna 4H and enjoyed winters by being a ski patrol in the area also. In the late 80s she moved to Red Deer and attended Reeves College.
In the early 90s Ella met her soul mate Bob Seidlitz and they were wed April 10, 1992. Together they made a truly beautiful life where they supported each other, worked as a team, and raised Amanda, Ashley, and Adam in the Spruce View/Eckville area. Ella was a giver and gave of her talents and time to her immediate and extended family and to the Christ Lutheran Church community, especially the kids and youth. She was always ready to do what it took to help anyone that was in need. She opened her heart and home to many people over the years and always showed the love of God in all she did. She loved sharing life with her family and blessed us with her great cooking, love of piano, sewing, greenery crafting and gardening of food and flowers.
Ella was predeceased by her parents Tom and Ruth Leslie, her brother John Leslie and her three sons Kirby Whitbeck, Wesley Whitbeck and Garett Whitbeck.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Bob Seidlitz; Step-daughter Amanda(Carlos) Lopez, their children Dominic, Javier, Naomi and Mia; Step-daughter Ashley(Kevin) La Roy, their children Cassidy, Hudson and Kylie; Step-son Adam Seidlitz; Granddaughter Dana Anderson, her children Destin and Macie; Granddaughter Kristi Anderson, her children Damian and Samantha; Grandson Lyle Anderson, his children Kirby, Wes and Garrett; Grandsons Aaron Whitbeck, Parker Whitbeck and Tanner Whitbeck; Granddaughters Zevan Whitbeck and Keira Whitbeck; Her remaining brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Ella will be held at a later date.
