Obituary of Elizabeth Gwendolyn Wright
One hundred plus, what an amazing number!
The family of Elizabeth “Libby” Wright are saddened to report Libby’s passing on May 17th, 2023 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital.
Libby, who grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, fell in love with a sailor, Gordon Wright, and moved to his hometown of Toronto after the war. They enjoyed their retirement in Coboconk and summers in Muskoka until Gordon’s death, when Libby moved to St. Marys.
She enjoyed an active life with her WI friends, events at the Friendship Centre, and puttering in her garden. Libby raised three daughters, Nancy Milano, Carole Swetman, and Susan Ashley, and was Granny to 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, many of whom joined her in October to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Thank you to the supportive staff at Fairhill, her valued PSW team, and to the thoughtful Diana. Cremation has taken place, and the family will gather to celebrate her life at a later date.
