Elizabeth’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Elizabeth Mary Hodder (nee Kettle) announce her peaceful passing, at the age of 79 years, on Monday, January 2nd, 2023 at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques, NL with her loving family by her side. Born in Grand Bay, NL, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late John Robert and Evelyn Kettle (nee Currie). She was also predeceased by her husband Clarence, father and mother-in-law; Alex and Mary Hodder (nee Patey), baby brother; Llywelyn, brothers -in-law; Alex Hodder and Sid Roberts.
She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children; Evelyn (Dave), Joy (Terry) and Jason(Tena), grandchildren; Tyler (Gina), Spencer (Madi), Chad, Tyler, Ashton and Alexis.
Elizabeth also leaves behind her brother; Alex Kettle, brothers and sisters-in-law; Bernice (Don), Marie, Ann, Wilson (Lillian) Betty, Clayton (Shirley), Eric (Alma), Wayne (Bonnie), Masie (Bob), and Cedella, special cousins; Jean (Bil) Lee, their children; Sue Ann, Donna, Michelle, Lee-Ann and their families, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Thomas and his Staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow heath Centre, and to Sherry at the Chemo Unit; your care and compassion, go beyond.
Visitation will be taking place on Tuesday, January 3rd,, from 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 4th at 11 am from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Grand Bay-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. Flowers graciously accepted and donations in memory of Elizabeth can be made to the Daffidol Place,70 Ropewalk Lane St. John’s, NL, A1E 5T2, or to the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Chemo Unit.
