Obituary of Elaine MacPhie
With her family at her side Elaine MacPhie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68. Beloved wife of Doug MacPhie. Cherished mother of the late Kelly, Chris and the late Tim. Loving grandmother of Lillianna. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Joan Johnson and daughter-in-law of the late Warren and Lilly MacPhie. Sister to Bill Johnson (Angela), the late Brenda Marcellus (Howard), Bob Johnson (Sandy), sister-in-law to Ellen MacPhie and many nieces and nephews. Elaine had a 44 year career as a registered nurse at the Hamilton General Hospital as well as a 10 year teaching career at George Brown College in Toronto. She really enjoyed spending the winters at her Florida home. Special thanks to the Oncology Team at the Hamilton Cancer Clinic and the staff of ward 3E at the Norfork General Hospital. Also, sincerest thanks to her dear friends Bonnie Reinhard and Irene Nickleson who helped her through this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. Interment at Tapleytown Cemetery on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Elaine’s life at Moose Lodge, 1860 Barton St. E. in Hamilton from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity would be appreciated.   1. Elaine was a vibrant, cheerful person. Supportive and kind. We worked many night shifts together as nurses in CCU. Elaine was an amazing colleague .
    I am saddened to hear news of her passing and wish to extend my sincere condolences to
    her family. I have many fond memories of Elaine and hope the family can find some peace in these. God Bless
