It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Marie Quinn (Burrows) at the Red Deer Hospice, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the age of 77 years. Elaine was born in Rimbey, Alberta. She eventually moved to Banff and started her family. She later moved to Sylvan Lake, Alberta, then to Red Deer, where she pursued her Nursing career, working at Alberta Hospital in Ponoka and then working in Grande Prairie at the AADAC Centre. Elaine made many friends along the way; which is evident by the amount of visitors she had throughout her illness. She was eventually unable to continue nursing but was happy to retire and spend time with family, friends, grandkids, and great grandkids. Some people inspire others even when facing tough times themselves, and she was one of those special kinds of people. She took up painting as a hobby and everyone always got a “special card” for every occasion from her. She proudly displayed them in her room for everyone to see and take if they wanted. Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her life partner, Red Gallant; her daughters, Debbie Burrows and Karry Burrows; her sisters, Darlene Wester, Pat McCagherty, and Barb Plastow; her grandchildren, Lindsay, Cody, Emma, Josh and Matthew; her great grandchildren, Grayson, Camryn and Kallie. She was predeceased by her parents, Marvin and Violet Becker and her brother, Merle Becker and Jack Burrows. A special thank you to all the staff at the Red Deer Hospice who made mom’s last days special for her.
