Elaine’s Obituary
JACQUARD, Elaine Elizabeth – Age 80 of Lower Wedgeport, Yarmouth County. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elaine Jacquard. She passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital after a long battle with illness. Born November 7, 1942, in West Pubnico, she was a daughter of the late Delmar and Bernice (d’Entremont) d’Entremont.
Elaine was born and raised in West Pubnico and she moved to Lower Wedgeport over 50 years ago. In her younger years she was a volunteer for many numerous organizations. She always had time for a visit with her friends. Elaine loved dancing in her younger years, sitting outside and enjoying the sun, flowers and being with friends and family.
Elaine was a devoted mother to two children, Louise Jacquard, Lower Wedgeport and Charles Jacquard (Sara Nickerson), Lower Wedgeport. She was a very proud grand mere to Mia, whom she especially adored.
Surviving also are her brothers and sisters, Dolores-Anne d’Entremont, Cerina Amirault, Noreen d’Entremont, Coral d’Entremont, Médric (Joyce) d’Entremont, all of West Pubnico; Philomen (Biola) d’Entremont, Bowmanville, Ont.
Aside from her parents, Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Jacquard. She was also predeceased by a brother, Bruno d’Entremont; two sisters, Harriet Cottreau and Rosette Beaupré.
Her family would like to thank Home Care, VON, MFRs of Wedgeport & District FD, EHS, Francine Swim and the Nurses on 4 North for all of their compassion and care. A special thank you to all Elaine’s friends that have helped so much over the years.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass. A burial will follow the mass. Donations in Elaine’s memory can be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
