Obituary
Eileen Hartley Turner born 1944 in Broughty Ferry, Scotland. Parents Ian Hartley Ronald, Marine Engineer, and Jessie Munro (Scott). Family moved from Scotland in 1967 to Mississauga and then mum and dad moved to a house (CNOC BUIDH) in Alliston for the last 20 years. It’s with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Eileen Turner (Ronald) announce her passing on February 20th 2023 at the age of 78 years at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston. Predeceased by her husband Malcolm Turner. Loved by children Andrew, Stacy (Mark) and Ian (Lisa) and grandchildren Logan, Cadie, Shannon, Danny and fur Grandchild Jazzy!
Mum was a volunteer in Guiding for over 30 years and received Civic Award of Recognition from Mayor Hazel McCallion and Voluntary Service Awards from Honourable Eric Hoskins. Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. She was known in Guiding community as “Granny Owl”. She continues to carry the name Granny Owl with her on her next journey.
Through the love and friendships she has acquired over the years, her memories and stories live on with the swimmers at The Nottawasaga Inn and the and Stitch get togethers. (Women laughing, crying, drinking as they worked on different knitting, crochet and crafting projects)
Living in the same house for 20 years has also a blessing because she buit great relationship with her neighbours. They definitely took care and watched out for her as all 3 of her children were in Mississauga, Stoney Creek and Beamsville.
Much love to the staff, volunteers at the Matthews Hospice for their care, compassion and dedication to supporting mum, her family and friends during the last week of her life.
