The family of Ehude (Charlie) Morissette sorrowfully announce the passing of our father, brother, grand-father, great grand-father, great great grand-father and uncle on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 95 years. He was surrounded by his loving family during his last days before he peacefully rejoined his wife of 72 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) Morissette (nee Pretty)(2020). He is survived by his children Gilbert (JoAnne), Norman (Jo-Lee), Mark (Claudette) all of Timmins and Michele (Brent Trudell) of Thunder Bay; his grandchildren Julie (Paul), Glenn (Nataly), Kim, Shawn (Micheline), Tammy (Ron), Andrea (Matt), Kaylee (Fei), Cora-Lynn (Mike), Marc, Dominique (Cody), Brandon, Heather, Melinda (Glen), Valerie and Alex (Celine); as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his sister Marie Ouimette (Phil); his sister and brother in laws Joyce Clement, Nona Worth, Bill Pretty (Janet), Rick Wilson (Beverly), John Wilson (Claudia), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his parents Patrice Morissette (1957) and Marie Lariviere (1964); his infant daughter Lynne (1952); his son Allan (2015); his grandson Robert (2020); his siblings Henri (1986), Rita (2004), Asa (2004), Hermaine (2003), Noe-Gilles (2007), Rene (2000), Leo (1986), Roger (2021) and Patrice (2011), as well as his sister and brother in laws and some nieces and nephews. Charlie enjoyed his long career in mining, was an avid fisherman and a long-time member of the Porcupine District Agricultural Society. He enjoyed cooking, baking and farming with the family and his furry companions. Charlie was still planning his gardens for this upcoming season. Numerous family members were able to get together to celebrate his 95th birthday on the Saturday before his passing. A special thank you to Lucie, Peter and the Cornwall family for the hospitality and entertainment they provided to their uncle Charlie during the winter months. Uncle Charlie truly enjoyed his time spent with them. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Timmins and District Hospital for the care Charlie received during his short stay. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from the St-Dominique Church (Fr. Alexis officiating). Followed by a burial at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Porcupine District Agricultural Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday May 3, 2023 at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
