Passed peacefully away, after a brief illness, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home St. John’s, on March 29 2023, Edward Matthews of Heart’s Content.
Pre-deceased by his eldest son Doug in 2008 and his brother Otto in 2010.
Ed leaves to mourn his wife of 67 years, Minnie, daughter Donna, sons Brian and Ed, grandchildren Michael (Jessica), Leigha(Blake), Hannah and their mother Tassie, and great-grandchildren Elsie and Jesse. Sister-in-law Margaret, nieces and nephews, numerous close friends and beloved cat Ricky.
He served Canada in the Royal Canadian Regiment from 1951-1954 and saw active duty in the Korean War.
Visitation will take place at Green’s Funeral Home Winterton, Sunday April 2, 2:00 – 4:00and 7:00 – 9:00.
Funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Hearts Content on Monday April 3 at 2:00 PM.
