1930-2022
With great sadness, the family of Edward Bernard Hoffart announces his passing on December 17th, 2022 at the age of 92.
Ed is survived by his sisters Christina and Alvina, brother-in-law Monsignor Raymond Senger, his children Wayne (Bev), Terry (Bonnie) and Glenda, as well as grandchildren Patricia (David), Steven, Nesta (Phil), Michael, Kimberley (Michael), Jessica (Thomas), Dannielle (Clayton), Dustin (Cassandra), Ashley, and Brittany (Faraz), and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, son Glenn (Michelle), granddaughter Courtney, and parents Stanley and Theresa. Sadly, Ed and his son Perry passed away within hours of one another on December 17th.
Ed was born in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan on May 26th, 1930 and graduated from the local high school. He married Evelyn Senger on Oct 21st, 1950 in Tramping Lake, and worked most of his life in retail at various Co-op locations in Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC. He ended his career as a retail manager at the Rocky Mountain House Co-op, and was very proud to receive Hardware Manager of the Year from Federated Co-operatives Ltd in 1991 and 1992.
Ed enjoyed meeting new people and kept many good friends for years. He loved to golf and was a great pool player, learning the game as a young boy at his father’s pool hall. He also loved games of chance, especially lotteries, scratch and win tickets, and slot machines. Ed enjoyed travelling, and he and Evelyn took many trips to sunny locations with his adult children. He was a devout Catholic and attended Mass regularly. He loved his family dearly and was always there when they needed him.
