On Monday, February 6, 2023, the loving and caring mother of Albert (Tina) and Joyce MacPhee (Hurley) passed away peacefully at the Northside Community Guest Home with her family by her side.
Born on July 21, 1929, and raised in Florence, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Marjorie (Brown) Osmond, and her stepmother Alice.
Edna worked and supervised at various fish plants in Cape Breton. She loved going to Bingo, flea markets, yard sales, and shopping.
Besides her children, she leaves behind her brothers Gordon (Judy) and Harold, step brothers Loddie (Sandra), Freddie (Willamina), Billy, and Carl, and step sisters Marlene (Glen) and Donna (Donald).
Also left to mourn are her grandchildren Leo, Laura Lee, Terra Lee, Linda (Darren), Brenda (Harry), Diane (James), and Paul, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Cecil, son Waide (Brenda), sister Berena Marsh, step-sister Margie Chisholm, and brother Sam.
Her family would like to thank the nursing staff and care workers at the Northside Guest Home, and the Cape Breton County Homemakers. Thank you also to Drs. Andrew and Alexander Wawer, and the nurses at the Northside General Hospital.
