The passing of Edith “Maxine” Toomey of Fredericton , NB, wife of the late Winston Toomey, occurred on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 18, 1935 in Marysville , NB , she was a daughter of the late Vinton and Ardath (Esterbrooks) Clark.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Sandra and Stephanie Toomey; grandchildren, Amy and Sarah Apostolou, Tyler and Kathleen King; sisters, Myrna Tweedie, Judy Dorcas and Carol Baker; brother, Gary Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Maxine was predeceased by her son, Stephen Toomey; and brothers, Albert and Aldon Clark.
Visitation will take place at Crosspoint Church , 4 Coronation Court , Fredericton , NB on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 10-11 am; followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am with Rev. John Symonds officiating. The service will also be available through the church’s web page (Link will be available at www.yorkfh.com). Interment will take place in Olivet Cemetery , Fredericton , NB at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
