Surrounded by his loving family at the Chatham Kent Hospice, Grant passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20th, 2023 at the young age of 63.
He was a loving partner and best friend to Linda Slater. An amazing dad to Geoff (Melissa) Morgan and Steph (Andrew) Harvey. Step-dad AKA bonus dad to Joanne (Tyrone) Slater, Mark (Crystal) Slater, and Paula Slater. A very proud grandpa/ granddad and Grant-pa to 10 grandchildren and a great Grant-pa to 1. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews, and a lifelong friend to many. He is survived by his siblings Jean Ball and Janet (Brian) Ford, and predeceased by his parents Ray and Mary Morgan, and his sisters Cheryl (Ken)Smith and Peggy Mills.
Grant was a talented carpenter by trade, working with several construction companies over the years. His true passion comes to life from his many personal designs he did for family and friends, creations that we will admire over time and keep his memory alive and well with us. If it was made of wood, he could build it. After stepping back from construction, Grant worked the past 13 years as part of the Erickson MFG team. In his spare time, Grant had a strong love for gardening. With Linda by his side, they both enjoyed growing their own produce to enjoy themselves and share amongst everyone with pride. Grant was also a dedicated NASCAR enthusiast, always being a big Jeff Gordon fan. Another favorite past time was enjoying Sunday afternoon trips to Dresden with Linda to place some bets and watch the horse races. Grant was talented, witty, and funny, leaving us with many stories to tell and laugh about. Grant will be deeply missed.
Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

So very sorry to hear of Grants passing. He was a great guy and would freely share his woodworking wisdom with others. I ran into him one day in the basement of a new house under construction. He was doing the finish carpentry in this house. His trim work looked perfect. Also worked with his Dad Ray out in Port Alma. Ray always treated me great as well. Cheryl used to give me deals at Canadian Tire as well when they had scratch and dent tools for sale. I only remember Grant smiling or laughing so good memories! Sincere condolences to Grant’s family and friends!!
