Douglas passed away peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock, on Sunday, May 7, 2023 after a brief illness at the age of 73. Loving husband and best friend to Mary (nee Sage) for nearly 49 years. Proud father of Brad Skillings (Tasha) and Christopher Skillings (Shannon) and Grampy to Dane and Nova. Douglas will also be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Dorothy Skillings. Born and raised in Woodstock, Douglas spend his working career in sales and service in the agricultural industry in the region.
Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Thursday, May 11 from 10-12pm. A service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 12pm, with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Interment at Innerkip Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Douglas may be made to Sakura House.
