It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved brother Doug, Saturday, August 26th at University Hospital, London On; leaving behind a trove of love, laughter, and wonderful memories.
Born in Stratford, September 29, 1952, son of James and Mary (McGuinness) Bannon. Lovingly remembered by his family, Bill (Louise Jamieson), Sharon (Gerry Langdon), Brian (Linda Near), Jim, Val (Jim Betts), Diane, Janet, Susan (Jeff Perkins)
Predeceased by brother Steve (Sandra Braithwaite), sisters Mary Ann, and Carolyn (Tom Herlick) Also predeceased by nephews Kyle Veillette, Derek Langdon, and Luke Henderson.
A Stratford boy at heart; after graduating from Conestoga College in Graphic Design, he moved to London, and spent most of his years working in that field, where he made many friends, eventually retiring after working in a printing facility 5 years ago. It was a standing joke that anywhere you went with Doug in London, you were bound to meet someone he knew… which always involved more than few good hearty laughs.
We are deeply grateful for the care Doug received during his short stay at University Hospital, and for his dearest friends Eddy and his wife Najwan, and daughter Ella Moon, who always went above and beyond for him, never to be forgotten.
In keeping with Doug’s wishes, a private family interment will take place at Avondale Cemetery.
