Doug Taylor of Bass Lake, Lombardy passed away January 1st 2023. Doug leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Joyce Taylor, daughters Tammy (Steve) Moffatt and Sheri (Andy) Mulcock, sister-in-law, Linda Saunders, and five grandchildren.
Doug and his family moved to Kemptville in 1953. Doug was active in baseball, softball and hockey. He spent 27 years as a volunteer fire fighter and was Fire Chief of Kemptville for approximately the last two years of his service. He worked 27 years as Office Manager for Kriska Transportation. Upon his retirement, Doug and Joyce spent 20 winters at Crystal Lake Village, Wauchula, FL., where they made many wonderful friends. Doug enjoyed golfing in his retirement and especially enjoyed the weekly golf games with Don Bernier, Art Cathell and Bernie Edwards. He also enjoyed his time with Larry Murphy and the Michigan Bandits.
A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at the Kemptville Chapel Reception Centre, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville on Monday January 9, 2023 from 1 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association or Lanark Animal Wellfare Society.
