Obituary of Dorothy May Sedgman
SEDGMAN: Dorothy May (Millns)
A resident of Chatham, Dorothy Sedgman passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the age of 97.
Born and educated in the Blenheim area, daughter of the late Donald Dudley Millns (1931) and May (Huffman) Millns (1983).
Beloved friend and wife of the late Lionel G. Sedgman (2020) for 74 years and proud and loving mother of Dennis Sedgman (Wendy) of Orangeville and Bonnie Gwilliams (Dave) of Paudash Lake.
Proud and loving grandmother of Sarah Sedgman (Darryl MacMullan), Daryl Sedgman (Magda), Ryan McKenzie (Tanya), Lindsay Servedio (Marco), Jessica Gwilliams (Mick Sachdeva) and David Gwilliams (Giovanna) and 10 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by two sisters, Marion Whitesell and Eileen Moore.
Survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a long time member of the Indian Creek Golf Club and enjoyed playing golf well into her late 80’s. Dorothy was an adoring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her kindness and generosity to all.
Dorothy was fortunate to reside at the Grand Retirement Village for the past six years and enjoyed many friendships there with residents and staff. Special thanks to the staff for their care and extra attention.
As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
