Obituary
After a brief illness, Dorothy Helen McRobb of Barrie left this life. She was the beloved and only daughter of Harry and Bertha McRobb (nee White). Dorothy lived a full life. She exceled at school and attended the University of Toronto, Woodsworth College. She loved her university experience and maintained a strong relationship with the University giving many young students financial help through the Dorothy McRobb Scholarship Fund. Her sorority sisters made her experience special. Dorothy became a Registered Professional Accountant and worked for the Ontario government. She worked diligently and became what a colleague called a top notch appointee to the Ontario Municipal Board where she became Vice Chair. Dorothy loved to travel throughout North America and especially enjoyed the Elderhostel experience which involved learning about her destination. She learned about real estate from her father and was adept at buying and selling real estate and oversaw the building of her own house in Orillia, Ontario. She also travelled to Europe, Africa and Asia. Dorothy tried her hand at many sports. She downhill skied , had a boat and loved the water but she loved nothing better than a good game of bridge. She was a fierce competitor and partner travelling to many bridge tournaments as well as playing locally. She was active in the University Women’s Club of Barrie & District and used her expertise as Treasurer of both the Club and the Club’s Scholarship Trust Fund.
